Another crypto currency investigation and a few more tit-for-tat trade tariffs were good for another big day on the street as the major averages enter the final hour with large gains.
Residential construction activity picked up in March. Housing starts increased 1.9% on a 14.4% gain in multi-family construction. Permits advanced 2.9% on a 19% gain in multi-family units. While this series has been volatile of late it has trended higher since late last year.
Industrial production advanced .5% in March, on a second large gain in Motor Vehicles and Parts, and to a lesser extent Electronics. Capacity utilization increased .3% to 80%.
